One of the popular events form last year will again be repeated this year on request. To listen to music, stories and poetry around the fireside in this absolutely unique setting of the Rose theatre, is always a big treat!
The Rose theatre is an open air theater, build into the trees in the forest. You can take in the night sky, the ambiance, music poetry and stories all at once. This quaint venue can only seat about 35 people, so make sure that you book your place early.
Trevor Webster is a storyteller of note. As one of the beloved elders in Hogsback, he is a treasure trove of information about the area, the history of the Amathola region as well as the intrigue that has played of in and around our little village.
Gwyneth Loyd needs no introduction. She is an opera singer, musician, potter, lecturer and has nurtured many young artists and performers. She is bound to delight with her songs.
Silke Heiss (www.silkeheiss.co.za) is a well known and well loved poet in Hogsback. She is also one of the ecca-poets and is currently working on the fifth draft of her book, Greater Matter – A Journey of Poems to Death and Beyond, which will be published by PoeTree Publications and is due to be launched in Hogsback on the 3rd of October this year. She will delight us with snippet from her upcoming book.
